The Broad Street Baking Company Story

Sol Blumenthal loved to bake. He used only the finest ingredients and old world formulas to create breads of the highest quality in his 1940’s bakery located on Broad Street in Trenton, New Jersey. Over 50 years later, in Jackson, Mississippi, Sol’s grandson Dan Blumenthal, and his partner Jeff Good, created Broad Street Baking Company and Cafe as a tribute to Sol’s legacy.

Broad Street makes everything we sell from scratch. At Broad Street, we take you back to a time and place where generation after generation of artisan bakers created breads from scratch following old-world recipes, with their own two hands.

While breads and pastry serve as the “heart” of the business, a full deli offering of breakfast, made-to-order sandwiches, unique salads, hearty soups, quiche, pizzas and other specialty items extend the scope of the business to encompass both eat in and take out dining. Corporate box lunch catering, special event catering, pastry and dessert platters, are other components which round out the product slate.

Broad Street serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week (except Sunday evening). Broad Street Baking Company is located on the ground floor of Banner Hall, on the I-55 West Frontage Road at the Northside Drive Exit. Call 601.362.2900 for take out orders and catering information!
